General Information

Description: The Dragon Academy is a small, co-ed secular private school (grades 7-12) in the historic Annex neighbourhood of downtown Toronto. The Dragon Academy was founded in 2001 by Dr. Meg Fox, who is also its current Principal.

The purpose of the school is not only to enrich the Ontario high school curriculum, but also to provide students with an integrated curriculum strongly based on the Socratic method. It is a progressive school following the philosophy of such thinkers as John Dewey. The Dragon Academy through its curriculum and teaching methods promotes creativity, freedom of expression, collaboration and a commitment to social justice.

Graduates have gone on to study at many of Canada's leading universities, including the University of Toronto, McMaster, McGill, University of British Columbia, York University, University of Western Ontario and Dalhousie University. Additionally a number of graduates have chosen to attend university abroad at such prestigious schools as the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, London School of Economics. Many have also gained acceptance into American colleges such as Bard College, Columbia University, Stanford University and New York University.
